The UCSC EYH Program offers the following opportunities, which provide hands-on experiential activities for middle and high school girls. They have fun while they learn some skills and techniques used in the field. In addition, students find out what scientists and engineers do, day to day, what kind of education they have, and how they balance their busy lives. Visit http://eyh.ucsc.edu for more information.

Annual EYH Conference: More than 200 8th – 12th grade girls come to campus to participate in a daylong science, engineering, and math event. The day begins with a keynote address followed by a choice of hands-on workshops offered in both the morning and afternoon and lead by women in STEM research and professional careers. They also get to talk to undergraduates and learn what it’s like to take math and science courses at UC Santa Cruz. Click on Conference & Application on our web site for the EYH Conference specifics.

GROW (Graduates and Researchers offer Outreach Workshops) links local middle and high school teachers and students with UCSC STEM graduate and undergraduate researchers who present math and science activities in their classrooms. Click on GROW on our web site to learn how to get involved.

EYH-GROW Ambassadors are local EYH Alumnae who promote the EYH Conference and GROW at their school. They also have an opportunity to participate in unique STEM activities on campus and in the community that are organized specifically for them. Click on EYH-GROW Ambassador on our web site for application materials.
