CEMELA goals are to:
• Develop researchers in mathematics education by recruiting and supporting doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers to participate in research and teacher education activities related to mathematics learning and teaching for Latino/a students.
• Conduct research by supporting faculty, doctoral students, and post-doctoral researchers in collaborative research projects addressing mathematics learning and teaching for Latino/a students.
• Strengthen pre-service and in-service teachers’ ability to support the achievement of Latinos/as in mathematics by expanding pre- and in-service teachers’ knowledge of mathematics and of linguistically and culturally responsive learning environments.
