STEM Enrichment Opportunities

Advancements in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (the STEM disciplines) are essential to understanding the processes of our natural world and applying this understanding to problems facing society.

From ACE to UCLEADS we are proud to offer a veritable alphabet soup of programs where dedicated faculty and staff introduce students to the excitement of science and engineering and support them in their studies and preparation for careers. Making opportunities in the STEM disciplines available to students from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds is an important goal of our programs.

We invite you to enhance your educational experience by participating in these exciting and rewarding programs.

Being an intern has helped me learn from the accomplishments of other teachers, and their negative aspects as well, to know what to do as a future teacher.

GIE is a wonderful program for all girls. I came here thinking that engineering was only for men and it was completely nerdy. Now that I think about it, I am totally wrong. Engineering opens up a whole new chance to do whatever I want.

MentorNet is a great resource for those who have found and those who are searching for careers that match their interests. When searching for a mentor I indicated that I would prefer a mentor that was in industry, because I have not otherwise had a chance to meet and interact with someone with similar interests as my own outside of academia. I am eager to find a mentor that can provide me with yet another resource to help me choose a career path that will be fulfilling in the future
